Potential For Prosperity

A Neighborhood Store

Today I got to sit at the service desk of the Walmart I work at. I watched hundreds of different faces walk in and out of the store as the slow day quietly faded to night, and the windy storm escaped its cloudy prison. I had received a revelation I had once had before but accidently forgotten. A reminder of a universal truth I live with…people change people. I witnessed a couple of middle aged people reunite and greet some old friends. Instant hugs and laughter—large smiles and indestructible connections. It was beautiful. Made me sit there and realize that God can give meaning to any part of our lives.

The effect people have on each other is huge. I got to sit there and witness people talking, laughing, and relating to one another. Something is special about a store, maybe how you are all there for the same reason. Just like we have all been sent here to this earth for the same reason. Maybe it is the Services the store provides. Just like the services we are provided from God on this Earth. There is simply something special in a community, whether your religious or not your effect on others is immense. I am always curious to if my smile from earlier today actually changed someone’s paradigm completely. Wouldn’t that be beautiful?

People walking in and out of a store

But are they rich or poor

Why would they do more

Whether they run or snore

Why take a tour

See friends from before

to make memories that replace wars.

block that door

where things are left and stored

to hide them from there own roar

The pages that sat outside the chapters — essays, habits, and the ones that found their way back.
