People Dressed in White

You hop on your bike, start the engine, prepared for a beautiful night on the road. You hear the chunky engine running, the wind blows on your face. Why wear a helmet when it just gets in the way?

You head into the canyon, it’s dark and you are alone on the roads. Excitement grows, the adrenaline high kicks in. You throw it into high gear and speed up. The speedometers red pointer going clockwise slowly. The speedometer moves increasingly as your heart pounds harder and harder and harder. The wind blowing on your face so vivid like your skydiving and then an unexpected turn….darkness.

You fade awake seeing someone dressed in white, many standing dressed in white. One of them stands out, one of them is still cradling your unprotected head, as you fade in and out of consciousness. The one is your father, you hear a faint voice telling you to wake up. You start seeing the tree line fade back into view.

You were brought back to life. A police man, kneeling besides you as a the first witness of your accident. As you mumble groans and discomfort sounds, you see the people in white fade from your view. You want to go back, you try with all your might.

You end up having one last conversation. A good luck hug with your father, a nice “you got this. It will all be okay.” talking to you as if nothing bad could ever happen as if the worst things are not even measurable to his love for you. He holds you in his arms. A moment that lasts forever. You fade back in to existence with the paramedics kneeling besides you. You were once again saved. Your lung collapsed. But yet there was still something missing you wanted to go back, life would be difficult, it would be harder this way. Life would be more challenging now, it didn’t seem worth it. You took one last leap, as the people in white were truly fading away, 2 of them brighter then the rest stand still. Even with the simple sight of there faces and them standing there, you are comforted. You are willing. You are confident.

You wake up one last time in an ambulance. The ambulance operators panicked emotions fade away. Brought back alive. You remember answering questions, chaotic amounts of voices around you. Your daughter and mother come in to your room. You can’t move your left side, your legs are destroyed, your lung is collapsed, your eyes aren’t moving, but you are alive. Your daughter gets to see you, your mother gets to see you. As the doctors operate and do plenty of tests over the span of a week or so, you’ve gotten used to the cold dark dim hospital room. Luckily your family is there to support you. Most importantly your sister. She is your biggest support.

After dying 3 times, suffering countless of injuries, going through multiple surgeries, and experiencing pain unmatched. You left this tragedy without a scratch on your head…..you made it out alive for a reason. Someone needs you here. Your redemption is planned. Your survival is required. You are Gods Child. You are your Fathers Son. You are being watched over by angels all the time. Do not give up hope. Do not let worry in. Do not stop caring.

I love you.

Written alongside the others, finished after them. The turn toward the other side.
